Speaker: Brian Mullis, MD, FAAOS, FACS, FAOrthA, Co-Course Director

Brian Mullis, MD, FAAOS, FACS, FAOrthA: Hi, I'm Brian Mullis from Indiana University, and I'm one of the chairs of the new knee and trauma OrthoSkills course.

What key skills or knowledge will attendees gain from this course?

Brian Mullis, MD, FAAOS, FACS, FAOrthA: We've intentionally designed this course more for the general orthopaedist who wants an update, or who maybe

Brian Mullis, MD, FAAOS, FACS, FAOrthA: starting to take call if they haven't been taking call in a while. Also designed for relatively new surgeons,

Brian Mullis, MD, FAAOS, FACS, FAOrthA: again, who may be wanting to gain comfort for relatively common and frequent cases they would see at a community hospital, not just a trauma center.

Brian Mullis, MD, FAAOS, FACS, FAOrthA: But this is gonna be techniques that you may or may not have seen in residency, you probably haven't had a trauma fellowship, but you'd like to get some tricks from those who have, and that's what this course is, is meant to be.

Why do you believe this course is essential for orthopaedic professionals?

Brian Mullis, MD, FAAOS, FACS, FAOrthA: I've been in practice for 20 years and I'm still learning new tricks, especially as techniques change with new technology or as we gain more knowledge. So why wouldn't you want an update from experts in the field who have been specifically instructed to gear this towards common problems that every surgeon sees on call?

Why is this course a unique experience?

Brian Mullis, MD, FAAOS, FACS, FAOrthA: This course is specifically directed for hands-on training with experts in the field, where essentially the whole day is spent, working on cadavers, doing approaches, talking about reduction techniques, how to place, Implants, this course is not something that you can get online. It really is geared for in-person attendance and there is no comparison.

Brian Mullis, MD, FAAOS, FACS, FAOrthA: I look forward to seeing you at the OrthoSkills: Techniques in Total Knee and Trauma Course in May!
