Chris Peppler: Hi, my name is Chris Peppler from Trimble based out of Denver, Colorado. I'm the Category General Manager for our MEP division. And what that really means is I lead product management and product marketing, and I'm really happy to be joining everybody in Amsterdam in May.
What nugget of wisdom are you hoping to leave attendees with after your talk?
Chris Peppler: I really hope attendees walk away with a deeper understanding of what it means to implement or mature a product marketing function inside a company. Often times people confuse product marketing with either marketing or marketing communications or strategic marketing or product management, and all those could be true, but at least in our case, we introduced a new function to the organisation and that took a lot of conversations and some interesting workshops and exercises to explain and reinforce with the organisation what product marketings responsibilities were and what they could do for the organisation as we transformed into a more mature software company. So, I really hope that attendees will walk away with some idea of the way that we did it, and maybe even some ideas on how they can take that back to their organisations and implement it themselves.
Which other sessions are you looking forward to watching at the Product Marketing Summit?
Chris Peppler: I'm really looking forward to attending the summit as well, not just presenting as part of the panel. And I'm hoping to learn more about what others have done. One size doesn't fit all. And I want to bring some things back to our organisation and our team, and a number of our team members will be attending as well, just trying to learn and grow the discipline of product marketing.
