How did you come to get involved with Thanksgiving Heroes?

Jenni: I became involved in thanksgiving heroes In 2019 I had a friend of mine that gave me this opportunity to come volunteer and I showed up and it was a beautiful, loud madhouse of thousands of people doing good. And I delivered three boxes to the provo area. And I fell in love with the people that I served. And I learned a little more about myself. And I was humbled and field the rest of my holiday with gratitude and thankfulness for all the blessings that I had in my life, and I will never stop volunteering with thanksgiving heroes.

How would you describe the main impact of Thanksgiving Heroes?

Jenni: For me, the main impact of thanksgiving heroes, um I found out when I volunteered that first year when I delivered the box of food to this family who who was in obvious need of it and she expressed their need for it to me. But the main thing that the impact that I saw was she was so grateful and excited and happy of the thought that somebody had thought about her enough to nominate her family, She was so grateful for the food, but more loved and felt more love and more more touched by the act of somebody thinking about her and loving her. And that was the impact. And I believe that her and her family will remember how that felt for the rest of their lives and it was wonderful to be a part of that.

What is your favorite thing about The Big Day?

Jenni: My favorite thing about the big day is the feeling of loading that last box and seeing it go away and turning around and seeing everybody that's left that's kind of there with the end, the intels of it, the garbage that needs to be cleaned up because it reminds us what just happened there. And we just sent out 3000 boxes to 3000 families who are going to feel love and appreciation from their community. And my favorite thing at the end is that big, big hug that the volunteers that came to volunteer on the Big Day get to give to each other and the thankfulness. And it's just, it's kind of undescribable. It's kind of undescribable. But my favorite thing is the very end of it. The whole thing is great. But the end when we can sit back and see what we've accomplished as a community and as a team is amazing.
