What are some tips for recruiters managing higher application volumes per job posting than usual?

Emily MacIntyre: So in terms of trying to reduce the overall application pool, I think a couple of best practices come to mind. Um first and foremost, really being as specific as possible within the job description at the forefront. So you're really kind of making sure that you're letting candidates know really what you're expecting um in terms of the experience in terms of compensation um and helping them to self select uh before applying. So giving them again a good understanding and that can come through in a various number of mediums um whether it's in the posting itself, providing various content um to again have candidates self select, but if you are still getting uh a large number of applicants, I definitely think that leveraging um whatever a TS is being used to the best ability, um leveraging various search terms and so on. And then moreover, I do think that it's really impactful um to make sure that any candidate that is applying or spending time to um submit a resume and so on, um is getting a follow up um and is getting that human touch. So again, that does mean spending a lot of time um going through applications and so on. But I do think it's important to make sure that uh the candidates are getting a response in any capacity, uh whether they are moving forward or not.
