Jessica Jaquez-Trejo: Hi fellow educators. My name is Jessica Jaques Trejo, and I'm a teacher just like you. I've been teaching for over 20 years. One of the things that I love the most as a teacher is learning from other teachers, learning with teachers, learning about the things that works for them, uh, learning tips and tricks. And strategies and because of that I'm very, very happy to be part of the Educator series that we created here for you by us educators for educators here at uh teaching channel. Please join us. We have a series of, of educator workshops just for you. Um, they're quick and easy, 45 minutes to an hour. Uh, you come in, you learn, uh, tips and strategies, things that you can implement in your classroom right away, things that are, uh, relevant and useful for what you do. And more than anything, uh, that brings that joy back to to teaching, back to learning in all aspects we have several, uh, different topics and things, but we started this April. So join us, uh, for our first one. You have all the information on our landing page. Please go to teachingannel.com and go to educator workshops, register and join us. Have a great day.

Why were you inspired to launch the educator workshop series?

Jessica Jaquez-Trejo: I wanted to become part of the educator workshops and I created um them more than anything else because I love learning from other educators. I think we have a great resource. There's a lot of us who have lots of experience and even those teachers who just started, they come in with great ideas. So having a place where we can share things. That work for us that are useful that I have been tried in the classroom that are um being communicated by someone who has been in the classroom I think it's a great way to learn from each other so the educator workshops are that are are uh created by teachers for teachers where we can learn from each other and be engaged and collaborate with each other.

The duration of the series, what topics it covers, and who the series is for.

Jessica Jaquez-Trejo: Our educated workshop series covers lots of topics. Every topic every month is related to what's going on in the classroom around that time. For example, we start off on April with stress cleaning, kind of like that spring cleaning we want to do in the classroom, but all in April it's all about. You know that that stress that comes with testing with, you know, right after spring break, everything that we have to cover, we have 10 amount of weeks before the end of the year or 10 amount of days before state testing or uh end of the court testing and we want to cover so much. Uh, and that brings stress up, right? So that stress cleaning I've also, you know, wanted to have a better classroom, uh, having, uh, to, to deal with classroom management. There's so many things, uh, so that's just one of the, of the topics in the series. We have, uh, school is almost out. Uh, for, for May, uh, we have Summerside for, for the summer we have, um, never have I ever, uh, teacher edition, which is always fun is again things that we've done, oh, do not want to repeat again, uh, as, as classroom teachers um we have at the beginning of the school year as well, uh, as new teacher, no, I prefer the term. Uh, you know, educator rookie of the year. Um, there's just many topics all related to what goes on on on the classroom, depending on the time of year.

What can educators expect to learn from the series?

Jessica Jaquez-Trejo: From our educated workshops, you can expect to spend 45 minutes to an hour learning from other teachers, um, like myself. Uh, you, you're going to spend 45 minutes to an hour collaborating, uh, being engaged, uh, learning strategies, things that you can turn around and in the in the classroom the next day you can apply. Uh, so it's just an hour of joyful engagement. That's what it is, while learning new tips and tricks.

Introduce March's learning series topic.

Jessica Jaquez-Trejo: Our first educator series starts with, um, stress, spring cleaning. It's all about the stress with state testing and also, you know, right after or before spring break, as usually right after spring break, well. We're trying to pack everything in our curriculum. We're trying to review everything for taste testing. We're trying to set up our our classroom or clean up our classroom at the end of the year. So it's all about that, uh, tips and tricks for all those things.
