What do you believe was the most impactful part of your experience in the Launch Your Private Practice Program?
Brittany Garza: Hey, so, yeah, I just completed Tara's launch or private practice group and first and foremost, I wanted to say thank you Tara for providing such a lovely, comforting space. I don't think I would have been able to be as successful as I was without her and my cohort's help. Um, everyone's so encouraging, everyone was so helpful, and on top of that, the information that she provides in her modules are so rich and so helpful. There are so many little logistics. That you think about or don't think about prior to opening your private practice, and she does a great job. She goes in depth, she causes you to critically think about some of the things that you want to take with you from previous workplaces versus things you don't want to take with you and being bipo, being a person of color, being queer. It was so nice to have a community of people that I knew would get it. I knew would understand some of my fears and worries about starting. I've been a therapist about 4 or 5 years now, and I've wanted to just open my private practice for as long as I can remember. And being bipoc and queer and a white dominated field has really stopped me from doing that. And I can't thank Tara enough for her ability to offer such a safe container for me to process some of these feelings and open my private practice. Um, I opened my private practice about a month ago and I'm almost full, and I didn't think I would be able to say that. So if you're on the fence about doing this, doing a, um, her program, don't take the leap, it's worth it, and you won't regret it.
What amazing results did you achieve in your business from working with Tara and LYPP? Walk us through your journey from start to now
Brittany Garza: So starting Tara's launch your private practice program helped me one, just take the leap and open my own private practice. I have been wanting to do this for years, like. 2 to 4 years almost, and every time I thought about opening my private practice, there would be these self-doubts of what if I don't get enough clients? How do I even retain clients? How the heck do I do billing? I don't know any of those things. Those things weren't taught to us in school. And Tara's program provides so much depth in what you need to start, what you need to be successful, how to balance your money, how to find freedom from possible financial trauma. Which I know is something that is still a constant work in progress, but she was a catalyst for undoing, unlearning some of these things that I was taught or learned about in grad school. Oh, therapists aren't gonna make a lot of money. You're not doing this because you want to make money. Which isn't necessarily true, thanks to Sarah. And I really hope that, you know, more people can see and understand that they don't have to remain in these toxic workplaces, that people of color deserve better, queer people deserve better, and It's possible, uh, like I said, I have had my private practice for about a month and I'm almost completely full.
Would you recommend this program, and Tara, to other intersectional mental health therapists, and why?
Brittany Garza: I would 100% recommend this to other intersectional mental health therapists. This has been a program that went by so quickly, and I learned so much and I'm so sad that it's over because this group of people came together to support me, to see me through my ups and downs, and that sense of community is so invaluable. And I want other intersectional mental health clinicians, mental health coaches, whoever you may be, to know that you're not alone and that you can find success, you can make money. You don't have to be bogged down by a system that isn't made for us. It's possible to have something better.
