In your opinion, what sets the Fundamentals Program apart from normal onboarding programs you have experienced?
Gentry Lee: The on boarding process here is a lot different from what I'm used to. Um, last place it was kind of just throw you into it and expect you to just figure it out as you go this place. It's, um, everyone's willing to help you. Not afraid to ask questions. The fundamentals programs actually pretty well put together. I was impressed by how thorough it's been.
If you were to explain the Fundamentals Program to someone joining Sunstate, how would you describe it?
Miki Crabb: If I were to explain the fundamental program to someone that is just joining Sunstate, I would explain this as the foundation of success for getting to develop ourselves in that community because you won't really know who you're working with unless you start from the beginning and beginning to grow with everyone. Even if it's not like your official job title, you at least get to know who you're working with throughout time and what their part is, with Sunstate too. And I love it, honestly.
Can you share a success story or achievement that you attribute to the Fundamentals Program?
Jacob Lenheiser: We had a CPU come in for an air hammer, uh, and he wasn't sure what size point and chisel he needed for a
60lb air hammer. Um, because of my fundamentals program, I knew that the 60lb air hammer took a 1 and 1/8 bit. Um, we're able to load him up and get him out there, uh, in under 10 minutes.
What aspects of the Fundamentals Program do you find most valuable to your success at Sunstate?
Luke Webster: Uh What I would say is uh the implementation of the core values. I feel like at other jobs and in other occupations, uh they have job signs all up, all over the uh all all over the office, right? Or over the job site where um they'll, they'll, they'll have the, the terms listed and this is what you shoot for, right? Uh Well, Sunstate does it differently and that they actually follow through on manifesting those core values. Um I've never been as empowered working for someone as I have been here.
What feedback can you share regarding the positive impact of the Fundamentals Program on your trainee's performance?
Pat Trotzuk: So I think this has been a very beneficial program to all three of the people who have currently gone through it. And definitely the fourth one who's currently finishing it up, um, they have more confidence in the way they communicate, they have better equipment knowledge without having to focus on that while they're doing their position training. So I believe it has been a very beneficial program and should be continued on to give everybody this opportunity.
How has the Fundamentals Program positively impacted the skills and knowledge of our new employees?
rafael mendoza: when it comes to the passport, I'm actually training the person beside me, teaching him what I know, fully, hands on.
What feedback have you received from employees regarding the effectiveness of the Fundamentals Passport?
Hope Geisendorff: The feedback I've gotten on this program is that the new employees really enjoy this. Instead of sitting in front of a computer doing training all day, they're out, they're asking questions, they're shadowing, they're working with a position leader getting to know the team. So all of the feedback that I've gotten is positive that this is a fantastic program. It also allows the leaders to take a step back and not have to be so involved on a daily basis with their training.
What changes have you noticed in employee engagement and job satisfaction as a result of the Fundamentals Program?
Ken Christensen: From a employee engagement. The team camaraderie has been tenfold, uh, from seeing someone out there on day one versus the, uh, death by Cactus Campus. It gives them the opportunity to understand someone's strengths and weaknesses and how they can support them. It's been a total game changer and an overall lift for our entire team, uh, to be able to know that they have direct involvement in someone's success.
