Which of Sunstate’s Core Values do you find most inspiring, and how has it influenced your approach to your work?
Brody McCoy : So, while Sun State has a plethora of core values, I find integrity to be the most important one. And integrity means holding yourself accountable, get your work done right safely and properly. And that way, you know, when you come into work every day, you don't have to backtrack on your teammates and everyone else around you, you can uh assume it's gonna be done properly and correctly and you can get work done quicker.
Reflecting on your interactions with co-workers, how would you describe the level of camaraderie and its impact on your work environment?
Brody McCoy : Here at the Jacksonville branch. Our team cohesion is fantastic. Everyone's friends. We get along wonderfully and it really creates a great work environment which a lot of good work gets done. Everyone's happy doing it, smiles jokes and it makes all the difference in the work environment.
Looking forward, what excites you the most about continuing your journey with Sunstate?
Brody McCoy : So all my time here with Sunstate has been pretty short. It's clocking in about seven months now. I have great expectations and high hopes for the future. I'm uh trying to get my way into the apprentice program to get inside the shop. And I hope along with that, it will also lead to being able to travel to the different branches. Both east coast, west coast, get to meet uh faces from all around the country and really just spread my name and make friends throughout the company.
Share your favorite Sunstate story or memory.
Brody McCoy : So, so far, my favorite story of my time at Sunstate has been uh one day, probably about three months ago, I was hooking up £1000 hammer onto an eight K exc 18 k excavator for the first time. And uh it took me quite a while. I changed the control valves on the arm itself. I had no idea there was one under the hood as well to do. So it's been, I spent probably 30 minutes trying different things trying to get it to work. And uh one of my mechanics had happened to see me back there struggling and he let me go for a little bit to see if I could figure it out. But then he came over and he took the time to explain the workings and the mechanics of it all and actually make sure I understood as to what I was doing. And I thought it was a great show for the team of let him try to figure out and then come teach the full extent of it afterwards.
