Charesse: I am on the customer experience effectiveness team here at Sunrun, as well as serve as the chair of the Black+ Employee Resource Group. The reason why I choose Sunrun is because it allows me the opportunity to be a part of something that's bigger than me, that's larger than myself. Our mission is to create a planet run by the sun. And so every day that I come to work, I know that I'm contributing towards reaching that goal and fulfilling that mission.

Charesse: At Sunrun, we believe that empowering people and recognizing their differences is essential. And so the goal of the Black+ ERG is to make Sunrun a place where black employees have parody and not only representation but as well as opportunity. So the Black+ ERG along with its allies, works diligently to foster an environment of inclusion for its employees.

Charesse: One of the most important things to recognize about Black History Month is that while it is an opportunity to recognize the past, celebrate the current, it really is also an opportunity for you to look forward to the future. It's a chance for us to evaluate what we want our contribution towards black history to be, whether it's at work at home in your community, it's a real moment of reflection to say, how do I want to shape history?
