Will Mitchell: Giddyup is about being mentally exhausted to the point where you need to give up on something and just walk away from it. sort of draws inspiration musically from bands. I was listening at the time. Dinosaur Junior, Guided by Voices , the descendants. It's pretty poppy melodic. It's got hooks.
