Hi, I'm Mark Fraser from vi-nil records and redbackrock.com. And today I'm listening to the debut album from Townsville Band -Poison Oak. It's called Suburban Dreams and it's riddled with really good tunes. It's very indie pop. I would say one of my favourite tunes would be Spent. It's just pop plus, close second would be Apocalypse, which is the track after that, it just comes in with lots of hooks, lots of riffs and, it's just not hard to get a handle on cos it's so accessible. It's a very understated album, I suppose you'd say, and I don't say that in a negative way at all.
Side two is just as good. What have we got here? I open my eyes, probably my favorite track on that side that the title track and the last song which is called Forgetting About You very reminiscent of the likes of God Star and Sneeze from back in the early nineties. and it would sit perfectly on soundtrack for a movie like Juno. So, very diverse selection of songs on this album 10 in all. It's up for Pre Salee, I believe at the moment, up at suitcase records and they're, great, pressing plant that also presses all our albums. So, Poison Oak, these suburban dreams, do yourself a favor.
