What do you love about Studies Weekly?
MaKeitha S.: We love it. Our teachers love it. Our students love it. What I like most about it is, number one, it's aligned with the Alabama State Standards Course of Study. And also, I've noticed that it goes along the lines of reading, math, science, —all subject areas— which we needed, something that aligned with reading as well. So, it correlates with the reading as well.
What would you tell another educator considering Studies Weekly?
MaKeitha S.: It is very, very lightweight. Our kids love it. They don't have to have to tackle a big, heavy book.
And it's very cost-effective, very reasonable. You get a lot of bang for your buck, —it's online, as well as the little newspaper component, So it's very nice.
How has your experience with PD been?
We get tailored professional development that is suitable for all teachers based on their needs. It's, like I said, it's individualized. It's wonderful. We have a whole day's training where the professional development consultant will come in and work with you. It's this excellent program overall. We love it.
