Why did your school choose Studies Weekly?
Stephanie D.: We chose Social Studies Weekly for our students and our teachers this school year because when we were comparing it to our current curriculum that we've had for social studies in the past, we had noticed that this provides a lot more structure and resources for the social studies instruction.
How does Studies Weekly help your
teachers save time?
Stephanie D.: With using the magazines that are provided and also the online platforms, it allows teachers to be able to plan more in advance with having all of their resources ready without having to search multiple different websites and navigating in multiple different avenues to get the resources for their students.
How does Studies Weekly help
with student engagement?
Stephanie D.: It also allows the students to have access to the materials that they could be able to explore it in different ways that are more appropriate to them and it can be taught in like a whole group setting or a small group setting. And we also like that there's a physical takeaway. It's not like the books that they're reading in class that we use year to year. With these resources, they can actually take them with them kind of like they would with a workbook.
What feature drew you to Studies Weekly?
Stephanie D.: We decided to use Social Studies Weekly really for the enhancements that it would provide to our instruction. I don't even want to give the credit all to myself. It was brought to my attention from teachers who were actively seeking it out as an additional resource. And at that time, they hadn't even realized that it could fully replace the curriculum that they were currently using. We're excited about this year being able to fully transition over to just using Studies Weekly so that they're not having to toggle and piece together two different curriculums.
