Prof. Giovanni Salvi: Evidence-based dentistry has influenced my career in the university environment because when I place implants for my patients, I would like not only to rely on my personal opinion - which could be bad or good - but also on the scientific data deriving from preclinical studies, in vitro studies, and of course, also longitudinal long-term studies, so that I can offer my patients the best knowledge available, which is generalizable in many studies and not relying only on my personal opinion of a specific implant system.
