How was the process of signing up to Sky's the Limit? How was the process of applying for a grant?

Savannah (Vanna) Scroggins : Greetings. All my name is Vanna Scroggins and I was the recipient of the December 2023 Friends and Families Grant. I joined Sky's the limit of around. I'd say September of 2023. It was fairly easy to work through the process of signing up and applying for the grant. Once I can navigate the website being very new to my own business and the business world in general, there was a hurdle to get over, but I feel like that, that was a lot more of my own personal anxiety than anything on Sky's the limits website. It's actually a very receptive and welcoming website that helps you through each individual step that you very quickly fall into a routine and understand a lot of it. They do an amazing job teaching you how to use their platform. And once I finish everything and I had my full pitch together, I felt so accomplished in myself because I am just starting in my business. So every step, every accomplishment is, is huge for me because this is a whole new world and I was so excited to get in and find my way to become my own business owner.

Why did you decide to sign up for Sky's the Limit?

Savannah (Vanna) Scroggins : I found Sky is the limit through a third party um grant website where you could go in and type what you would need. And it would bring you to all these different websites that you could find. Sky's. The limit was the only one that I really found any aid from. And it's the one that I use exclusively now. I no longer use that third party site because I had a bad experience with it. But I've never had a bad experience with Sky is the limit. And I'm so grateful for the opportunities that this platform has allowed me.

If you won a Sky's the Limit grant, what was the money used for?

Savannah (Vanna) Scroggins : This grant will allow me to expand my inventory of the bracelets that I can create myself into a wider variety of intentions that people can choose from to be their assistants in their everyday lives. Because that is what I do with my soul shine. At least in this singular singular instance, I create intention bracelets with the crystals of the earth to give you a sort of armor when going out into the world. This particular one is what I call my destiny strand because of the crystals that I have paired with it. The grant will also allow me to expand my sales to Etsy and online platforms, giving me a further range than my own geographical location because I'm currently in the process of getting bracelets in local stores in my area. But I know that there are a lot of people across this country and the world that struggle with a lot of different things because this life is hard and there are challenges that we go through and we feel like we're alone and at our wits end sometimes, and I genuinely believe that my product being paired with the mantras that I give my customers will help them find a greater sense of grounding and stability in their own life, in their own uniqueness that will help them elevate their own soul shine. Because what is more beautiful than someone being proud of who they are.

Please give us an example of some of the support you've received from the Sky's the Limit community.

Savannah (Vanna) Scroggins : The greatest support I have received from the Sky is the limit. Community comes from my business mentor and now personal and dear friend Cameron Cox. He is based very locally to me, only in a state to the south. And we have a meeting every single Monday to touch base with like what I need to do that week, what I accomplished the previous week and where I can reorient my energy and focus and just having that sound board of a like minded person telling me like, OK, you're doing good. We can work on this a little bit. It has never been a situation where I was being forced to do something too quickly. He's very much worked at my pace and helped me develop. I've also began to join him and his friends in their personal podcasts. After five, the lifestyle every Wednesday, I join them. And that has been an amazing experience because I have met some incredible people from writers and financial experts to healers. And that has been incredible because it has not only helped me become more confident in myself, in my voice and in my business, I'm also learning from people who are distinctly different from me. And that is helping me see different perspectives and realities that I would not have known because we are so humans inherently are selfish. We focus on what is pertinent to us and we so often forget that other people exist. So having these conversations with people who are so vastly different from who I am is incredible because I get to see and experience the world from someone else's perspective. And as a writer, as someone who wants to understand what people go through and what people struggle with and how people have fought their own battles and conquered their own demons. I am fascinated and enthralled by how people have overcome their struggles, how people have turned over what life has given them and made miracles out of it. It is inspiring and I want to help spread that I want to help share that I want to inspire other people who are feeling like because they were dealt a certain hand, they must accept that reality. That's not true. I did not accept the reality that I was given when I was a child and I was told who I had to be by society. I did not accept that reality. And I've chosen to make these changes. And that's amazing to find people to find a community who have also chosen to break the mold that they were being pushed into, to shift and pull themselves out of a Chokehold. Of a label or a job title that it wasn't them finding who you are is a difficult journey because you have to unmake everything that made you acceptable to people. And that's a very difficult thing to go through. And I have felt very alone throughout my journey to share my soul shine and to meet someone like Cameron and Kendrick who not only support but encourage that level of authenticity and uniqueness that's very difficult to find. And I value their friendships and guidance in my life and in my business.

Would you recommend Sky's the Limit and why?

Savannah (Vanna) Scroggins : I would recommend Sky is the limit because it's a very welcoming platform. It's one that truly wants to give everyone an equal opportunity in my research of doing grants. Sky's the limit is the only one that I found that I would have been eventually guaranteed to get something because there are other grant websites that you have to pay a certain amount of money for to be in the pool or it's just gonna roll over again and again and again and you could never get it. The Sky is the limit much like your own business. If you stay focused, stay determined and put your time and energy into it, you will get your grant, you will get your success. And it's not even just about the grant, which is of course a huge aid. It is about the connections that you make with people, finding people across this world that share your dream or one that you know, even thought of in looking at the funding page over the past four or five months. I have seen some incredible businesses come across some people who are doing some truly amazing things with their lives to make others lives better to make others lives easier, to make others life worth living. And so if you are that kind of person who wants to inspire that change, to bring that connection and support to people, join Sky's the limit because there's nothing to lose and everything to gain. This platform is not only incredible but uplifting and inspiring and connective. And it's amazing the shift that my life and my business has taken since joining this platform and engaging with the incredible people that I have met on it.
