Speakers: Joshua Height
Joshua Height: Good evening. My name is Joshua. Height and I wanted to tell you, thank you so much for the Donohue Family and SkillPointe for supporting my educational interests as it relates to carpentry. My desire to start learning how to build my own things got started back in 2018 when I got my first set of chickens and I had to build a chicken coop to keep them in and it definitely kept the chickens in, but it did not keep the animals out.
Joshua Height: I wanted to broaden my knowledge and my skills on how to build things so that as I could build it, it wouldn't only be functional, but it would be nice. And so eventually, as I got into high school, my high school teacher made an impression on me and I began to take up carpentry and construction core classes and my building got a little bit better. It's still not where it could be, but I decided that I wanted to take this opportunity to just say, thank you so much for supporting my interest.
Joshua Height: This opportunity with the scholarship of helping me get into construction and being able to broaden my knowledge on building has not just been a blessing to me personally, but has been a blessing to those attached to me because as I do work at my farm and I'm getting knowledge on how to build, I'm getting knowledge on how to keep my animals protected. Then that is passed on at any time my animals lay eggs, anytime there is increase at my farm. I have the ability to pass that on because of your generosity.
Joshua Height: It's one seed that is planted and then somebody else waters and then it grows on to be something bigger. So I just wanted to say thank you so much.
