Speaker: Margaret Waddell

Margaret Waddell: Hello, my name is Margaret Waddell, and I am from Perth, Western Australia.

Margaret Waddell: Sketch Awesome has helped me as an artist because I actually wasn't one until I started doing this Course. I was lucky to colour in between lines and I've only just started doing art in the last two years through Phil, which has been fantastic. He's a great teacher. I love the different, formats. I love the different, materials and the way he explains things - and shows you you know, the negative spaces. And I've done things that I never ever thought I could do. I'm a bit nervous sometimes when I start and I walk away, come back, and I'm very proud of what I've done.

Margaret Waddell: Just a few of the pictures that I like and I've enjoyed, and the sketches, which I never thought I would be able to do. I like the fact that I can do everything in my own time. It's very important to me because sometimes there isn't a lot of time in the day, especially if you go away or things get in the way. Sorry! A bit fiddly doing this. So at this stage, I am very happy with what I've produced. And hopefully you will be too.

Margaret Waddell: I would highly recommend um Sketch Awesome to anyone who has never drawn or painted or even thought of - - people that have, you know, would also enjoy it, but I've thoroughly enjoyed it as an absolute novice. It's given me something to do after retirement that I never thought I'd be able to do, never gave myself credit for doing, And it's thanks to Phil with his direction and his kind voice and his lessons that I have found fantastic. He's taught me so much and I love the fact that I can take my time to do it, that I've got it I've got it there. I can pause things to, look at them. I can walk away and come back. And it's given me a whole new, aspect to my life where I can do a lot of mental things and mathematical things, but the creativity things in drawing and painting and whatnot, it's just been so pleasurable. I strongly recommend that you give it a go. I don't think you can go wrong!
