John Gordon Jenkins: Hello! John Jenkins from Sheffield. I've done both the Draw Awesome Courses and the Sketch Awesome Courses. They're both excellent.

John Gordon Jenkins: The most I got from the course was techniques, obviously. I learned the face proportions using the Loomis method. The body proportions... but I think most of all was observation against the objects you're drawing, or the scenes. That, that was the greatest technique of all, getting the observations right.

John Gordon Jenkins: I'll just show you some of the work from my second sketchbook. The proportion for doing the horse. The winter and spring, summer observations. This was very different, very varied work that you get with Sketch Awesome. Here... here is one I'm proud of - and not so proud of! Not so proud of this one. She... I don't know what, I think she's got a beard! That was good using, gouache. I was very pleased with these two faces. Love doing these two. And I really enjoyed that one. One or two I'd like to redo like this one, I didn't get the colours and the reflection right, but that gives you an idea of the varied work we do in Sketch Awesome.

John Gordon Jenkins: I'd highly recommend this Course, Sketch Awesome, to you. Phil is a very good down to earth teacher. You can actually go at your own pace because it's online. You purchase it - - it's there forever. Like me... I have builders in, I've got so much grandchildren, and childcare that I fell quite a long way behind. But it's there. You can pick it up when you can. You can go back and understand the techniques better. Therefore, you can go back and practise. I'm afraid I'm impatient, so I did rip a few pages out of my sketchbook. But, you learn from your mistakes and you've got time to repeat all the exercises. So I highly recommend this Course.
