Speaker: Allison McCauley
Allison McCauley: Hi there, Allie from Australia.
Allison McCauley: How has Sketch Awesome helped me as an artist? Well, I didn't know that I was an artist, so that helped me discover that I was and that I could actually draw. Which has been great because I kind of keep a bit of a diary of, of things that I like to remember, the way that I like to remember them. And the other thing is is that I can start to kind of share my memories with other people by drawing little cards, and that's actually really special, so thank you Phil, for teaching me how to tap into that part of my brain that needed a bit of, you know, expression.
Allison McCauley: OK, some of my samples, and the style of drawing that has really appealed to me. I think it's probably because I'm a little bit impatient and also as well 'cos you just don't have time to think, like you just do it. Continuous line, love that, that's been, that is really good. That's kind of fun. Watercolour... loving the watercolour. I really like the sort of loose monotone stuff as well. So that's just watercolour with a bit of black ink. And then this is one that I just did last night actually, so watercolour, and coloured pencils, which is a really nice approach as well, but it gives you a really nice texture.
Allison McCauley: I would highly recommend doing the Course to anybody. I was actually recommended by a girlfriend who did the Draw Awesome class, and she recommended the Sketch Awesome class to me. Phil is such a fantastic teacher. I mean, I didn't even think that I could draw. I thought it would take me a few weeks to even produce anything that I could... I could look at! And within the first lesson, I was so proud. I was showing everybody my first page of drawings. The other thing is the flexibility, so you can do it in your own time. Like, I'm only halfway through the course and the Course is finished. But I'm just doing it in my own time when I can squeeze it in and when I can really enjoy it as well. And also that you can do it from anywhere. So I've been doing it, while travelling, which has been you know, super easy and lots of fun.
