What are the programme highlights?
Supriya Mohile: There will be so many exciting agenda items at the SIOG meeting in October. There will be researchers from across the world attending that will talk about their infrastructure for the design of geriatric oncology clinical trials. For example, the dialogue group will be there and EORTC will be there and will have whole sessions dedicated to their science and geriatric oncology. The cancer and aging research group with the PI being Dr William Dale at the city of hope received a large grant from rising tag foundation. There will be they will be doing a whole session on clinical trials that involve patient advocates and also involve clinical trial designs that include geriatric assessment. Those will be really awesome learning opportunities. We have also oral abstracts in multiple sessions. There will be an oral abstract session that is dedicated to patient priorities. And the plenary session is focused on randomized controlled trials in geriatric oncology. There's a wealth of information we hope that you can attend
Why become a SIOG member?
Supriya Mohile: SIOG is really the home for any a person who's interested in the care of older adults with cancer and improving the outcomes of both them and their families. This is the only dedicated international group that is focused on clinical care and research in geriatric oncology. There are other groups across the world that have partnered with SIOG But SIOG is really a home for geriatric oncology. I've been a member of SIOG from since almost its inception and the, and I'm the editor in chief of the journal that partners with SIOG, the journal of Geriatric Oncology. Both are great opportunities for membership. It's a fun group of passionate individuals that are dedicated to mentoring early career faculty, early career clinicians and trainees. And so you can come up to any of us and talk to us and learn from us and we're happy to learn from you. Please attend the SIOG meeting this year.
