When did you first hear about Serve and Protect Credit Union and why did you join?
Richard: I first heard about, [Serve and Protect] Credit Union, first quarter of 2023. I got a tip from a friend and checked them online. That was the first time I heard from, I got to know about [Serve and Protect] Credit Union.
How has the credit union helped you?
Richard: Well, [Serve and Protect] Credit Union offers me fair banking and financial inclusion and tend to be more flexible.
What is the best thing about being part of the credit union?
Richard: The best thing about being part of [Serve and Protect] Credit Union is that they have a more personal approach and look at individual circumstances before taking decisions. Although I tried to obtain a loan earlier which they declined, but last I got a call from one of the managers and there was a brief explanation as to how to build up my credit, how to make effective banking savings and all the rest. And so far I've learned a lot and my finances have improved. So I think apart from the money aspect, they offer some professional advice from professionals who have been in the system for a long time. So I really, really like the opportunity I would want to still continue because I see them as my second bank, apart from my first bank of which is Halifax.
