Aarti Sarwal, MD, FAAN, FNCS, FCCM: Hello, I'm Aarti Sarwal, the Social Media Editor of Critical Care Medicine. Here are my top reads from the upcoming issue of CCM. The May issue brings us two articles on ICU rehab. The first is a clinical trial of robotic assisted in-bed mobilization in vented COVID-19 patients. The accompanying editorial by O'Grady and Kho highlights the promise and opportunity costs of new rehab technology in the ICU. The second one is a scoping review of treatment fidelity in 94 RCTs of physical rehab in the ICU by Farley and the group. The editorial to this review proposes several ideas on applying this treatment fidelity framework for future trials and is a great read by itself. Another article that caught my attention was by Sathe et all that establishes a framework for utilization of machine learning methods for trial enrichment for persistence in trials involving mechanically ventilated patients. This interesting article is accompanied by an equally enriching editorial by Schenck and Siempos who break down the approach piecemeal and beautifully elaborate on the process described by the authors. Lastly, please check out the guidelines on use of steroids in ICU patients with sepsis. ARDS and community acquired pneumonia. For more articles, please follow us on X and Facebook. Have a great day.
