Speaker: Jeff Birk, Director, Global Sales Enablement, Prophix
Jeff Birk: Hey, everybody. It's Jeff Birk, Director of Global Sales Enablement at Prophix, and also author of Train, Like a Rock Star, speaking tips from a stand up comedian.
What will you be discussing at Sales Enablement Summit?
Jeff Birk: You know, in sales and especially in sales enablement, we're usually involved in some sort of training or public speaking to one degree or another. And so what I'm going to do in my session is I'm going to teach you the skills and methods that I have used in my stand up comedy career and how you can incorporate those skills into your public speaking, making you funnier, making you more engaging and also just kind of helping you put your audiences on their feet instead of to sleep.
What nugget of wisdom are you hoping to leave attendees with after your talk?
Jeff Birk: When it comes to a nugget of wisdom that I'm hoping you'll get from this session. I would have to say that it's understanding that it's not just about being funnier in your presentations. It's about having confidence, it's about using body language. It's about using quotes effectively. It's about memorizing those quotes and memorization in general. So you don't lose your place in case the monitor switches off or your powerpoint screws up. Right. It's also about effective storytelling. So that and many other nuggets are things that I'm going to be sharing with you during this session.
What are you most looking forward to about the event?
Jeff Birk: There are a couple of things I'm really looking forward to about this event. Number one are the networking opportunities. I've been to a number of SEC summits and the networking opportunities are always fantastic, rubbing shoulders with some of the best of the best people in sales enablement. The other thing that I'm really looking forward to is Jimmy Hoffa and Elvis were recently cited in the lobby of the Aria Hotel where the SEC summit in Vegas is going to be. So, uh I'm gonna be spending a lot of time in the lobby with my iphone at the ready.
