Speaker: Tommi Ylinen, Chief Product Officer, RELEX Solutions

What is your professional background?

Tommi Ylinen: My professional background is more or less equal to to RELEX . So I started as RELEX's first hiring employee back in 2006 when I was still doing my university studies in Helsinki. And since then I've been doing various different roles, from software testing, to analysis, to project management. And one of the highlights was when I spent three years opening up our UK office, roughly 10 years ago. And for the last 7, 8 years I've been In this position scaling our product team from 0 to now 200 people.

What will you write about as a Content Contributor to SaaS Nordic?

Tommi Ylinen: I've now been over 15 years with RELEX, so I'm definitely gonna look back and think that, what have I learned over that period, especially from product go-to-market point of view, what got us here from being a four person, five person startup and now being over 1500 people enterprise across all continents. And I'm gonna think of topics that what product choices have we made that have worked, what things have we had to consider throughout our journey to get here and how to continue to innovate and launch new products, you know, start-upping manner within a larger enterprise.

Why are you a member of the SaaS Nordic community?

Tommi Ylinen: I think a big part of working for a startup or scaleup is to constantly learn constantly improve. Constantly you find yourself in a new kind of phase or stage, and you need to solve any kind of challenges and there's no good guidelines or right answers for those. And for me, I've always tried to talk and listen to like-minded people or people in similar positions to just hear how they have solved those problems, or if they have even faced those problems, and sometimes you can even copy paste a solution. But more than that, it's about enhancing your own thinking and giving you depth in your own process. And I think for that it's great to have a community full of similar people from similar kind of companies.
