Video Transcript

Speaker: Avtar Jasser, Founder & CEO, CatalystOne Solutions

What is your professional background?

Avtar Jasser: Hi, I am Avtar Jasser I am CEO and founder of HR tech scale up CatalystOne Solutions started back in 2004. My entry into SaaS was via sales, although I am trained as a mechanical engineer.

What will you write about as a Content Contributor to SaaS Nordic?

Avtar Jasser: I would like to write about product-market-fit. What do you do when you don't have it? How do you know that you have it and what to do afterwards? Furthermore, I would like to write about, go-to-market how to identify the right ideal customer profile for you, how to define the right, go-to-model for you, how to recruit the first VP of sales, VP of marketing and so on. I'd also like to write about funding, How do you strike the right balance between cash burn and growth? How do you identify the right kind of investors for you, both for the short and the long term? Furthermore, I would like to write about culture, the importance of culture for your startup and how to build it. And the impact your personality, the founder, founding team's personality has on culture. I'd also like to write about organization how to right size the organization, which roles are more important than others, when to recruit, how to recruit, how to retain, how to develop leaders and define clear enough roles so that the organization is as efficient as possible. I'd also like to write about founder mentality, how to keep motivated during tough times because there will be many. Finally, I'd like to write about the transition from a startup to a scale-up phase, which is a real challenge for many, many founders.

Why are you a member of the SaaS Nordic community?

Avtar Jasser: I am a member of the Saas Nordic community because I want to learn. I've been running a SaaS business for 18 years and I learn something new every day. And I also learn every day that there are so many things I don't know. So I want to learn from other people's experience. Furthermore, I would like to share my own experience with others who are maybe in an earlier phase than I am. I've learned a lot of things the hard way and I hope that I can contribute to other people's learning in an easier way than I have done it myself.
