Video Transcript

Speaker: Harrison Dang, Pharmacist

Harrison Dang: And so, I think down the line, 5 years, I um am currently interested um in being a PGY 2 resident, um, specifically in critical care.

Why did you choose the RxTechExam course?

Harrison Dang: So I first ran into the RX tech exam course simply by searching through Google, um, and that was one of the first courses that, um, popped up to me. Um, it looked like it, the content was going to be, um, good enough for me, um, in my success for the PTCB exam, um, and in addition to that, it was, um, fairly cheap, and so I went with this option.

What doors did certification open for you?

Harrison Dang: So I really think that the certification kind of opened me to the entire world of pharmacy, um. I didn't have much exposure to pharmacy prior to being in pharmacy school, besides being a pharmacy technician. I was an undergraduate student and I was in the pre-pharmacy program. However, we didn't get much exposure at all, and I think, um, joining, um, The retail setting as a pharmacy technician really helped me get into the groove of how kind of pharmacy works and how we can make an impact on our patients. And so I think that really helped me become um a better pharmacy student and also at the end of the day, a better pharmacist with um prior experience coming into pharmacy school.

You took our course about 5 years ago, where do you picture yourself 5 years from now?

Harrison Dang: So I took the course about 5 years ago, um, and kind of going through that, um, I worked as a pharmacy technician for half a year prior to coming into pharmacy school, and I completed a 3-year pharmacy program, pharmacy school program, and, um, I am a newly grad, and I'm also a PGY1 resident in a community hospital. And so, I think down the line, 5 years, I um am currently interested um in being a PGY 2 resident, um, specifically in critical care. So, in 5 years, I picture myself hopefully to be a critical care pharmacist and also have some board certifications, um, in pharmacotherapy and hopefully critical care as well.
