Why did you choose the Rocky Mountain International Student Program for your study abroad experience?

Lilly from Germany: I wanted to study with the Rocky Mountain International Student program in Canada because I wanted to be in a small community, which was really important for me. And also because the program offers one activity a month, which makes, which gives me an even better and more Canadian experience.

Jean from France: I chose the Rocky Mountains International Student's Program because I had friends that went to Canada with that program and they really liked the experience that it proposes. So I wanted to try it and I'm not disappointed at all at the moment, it's very amazing experience.

What do you like best about the community you live in?

Krit from Thailand: In the community where I live, I like people because people are friendly and I like air quality because air quality is good.

Isabel from Spain: What I like best about Vanderhoof, besides how beautiful it is is the friendliness and closeness of people like wherever you go, people are going to be friendly and welcoming.

Lilly from Germany: friendly and also the wildlife. There is at least once a week. I see wildlife. Yesterday I saw a bunch of deer and a herd of elk and I also saw coyotes and fox before and I'm still waiting to see a bear. But yeah, I really enjoy the wildlife here.

Fritz from Germany: What do I like best about Fort St. James, the big lake, the Fraser Lake. It's a huge lake where you can skate on in the winter and where you can go swimming in the summer and the ski hill, It's ... in the winter. It's perfect. It's like 20, 15-20, minutes away from town and you can ski the whole day.

What do you like best about your school?

Jean from France: Also, what I like is that the vibe of the class is completely different. Here, you can stand up, talk, even do anything you want, as long as you listen to the teacher and don't disturb the class, whereas in France, we just sat in the chair and the only way we can speak is by raising our hands. So it's completely different.

Sanho from Japan: What I like here best is foods class. We cook different meals almost everyday. I like cooking Canadian meals. There are some dishes I eat for the first time, but I like I like it

Lilly from Germany: What I like best about my high school here is the different classes. I have had classes like photography or drama and I didn't have classes like that in Europe, but I really enjoy it. And I also enjoyed high school sports. We're doing lots of trips and have lots of practice and it's really much fun and there you can really feel that high school spirit, like they tell you in the movies and I really enjoyed that.

Nina from Germany: I'm going to a small school so everyone knows each other. The teacher has been great and helpful so far and yeah, I got along with them pretty well and they make my time easier here. Also, we have some great school teams at my school, like the ski and snowboard team.

Fritz from Germany: What do I like best about my school? For sure. The food you have every day, every morning, free breakfast. You have for any break bagels, yoghurt, fruits like oranges, bananas and apples. And then you can get for lunch. You have to pay for it. But always something and it's not over $6.

Krit from Thailand: What I like about my school is I don't have to wear a uniform because in Thailand I must wear a student uniform.

What do you like best about your homestay?

Jean from France: I think what I like the most about my home stay is that we are a big family with five children and they are very open minded. They always listen to you.

Elmond from Thailand: I like the food because it is similar to the Asian food and there is a gym in the house and basketball court in front of the house.

Fritz from Germany: I like my host siblings the best about my homestay, and they always want to do something with me. They always want to show me something. So you have always something to do. If you want to have private time, you always can have private time. But if you want to do something In 90% of times, they want to do something with you.

Annalotta from Germany: My host family has a small farm far away from anything else. I really enjoy being surrounded by so many animals and so much nature.

Lilly from Germany: And also my host family did a huge trip with us through Canada during spring break, where we could see three different provinces. And that was an amazing experience. But then there's also those little moments where we are baking together and that's really nice.

Nina from Germany: We are super happy together. We all get along pretty well. We went on some amazing trips together and it put the family closer. Um I love them all with my full heart and I'm really thankful to say that I have two families now.

What has been the best part of your experience with Rocky Mountain International Student Program?

Sanho from Japan: We went to a lake to do dog sledding That was really Canadian I think. The view I saw and a lot of snow. It's really beautiful.

Annalotta from Germany: At the very beginning of my stay in Canada, all the international students went together to the Murray ski area. The weather was amazing, and I really enjoyed the nice view on the surrounding lakes. Since I love skiing, this was my favoritest activity with the Rocky Mountain International Student program.

Lilly from Germany: My favorite part with the program so far was a trip to Echo Lake, where we stayed overnight and we did activities like snowshoeing, skating or ice fishing. And it was really nice to have to spend that time with all the international students.

Isabel from Spain: I've not been here for a very long time only for two weeks. But at the moment the best thing of the program, program has been getting to know people from very different countries like Japan, Mexico, France, Germany and Thailand. I think this is very good and I'm looking forward to a trip that we are doing this weekend, so it's going to be great.

Elmond from Thailand: The best part is doing things I have never done before in my life.
