Why did you choose Rocky Mountain International Student Program for your study abroad experience?
Ruth from Germany: I chose the Rocky Mountain International Student program, um, for my abroad experience because, um, it's the partner organization of my german organization called for Life and my siblings already went abroad a few years ago with this organization. And yeah, they just had a really good experience. And yeah.
What do you like best about the community you live in?
Ruth from Germany: I really liked that I lived that close to the ski hill, so I went skiing a lot of times. And yeah, I also like it that Kimberly is not a big city because I just like it when it's a smaller town and yeah, I just feel more comfortable.
What do you like best about your school?
Ruth from Germany: I really like it that the school team in Canada have a lot of non academic subjects, so they have classes like woodwork, metal work, foods and yeah, photography and they're just like a lot of different things you can try out and yeah, it's really, really cool because I can't do that in Germany. So yeah, it's a nice little break between the academic classes and yeah, it's just really fun.
What do you like best about your homestay?
Ruth from Germany: Yeah so my host family is really big. I have four host siblings. My host parents. Then I have another host sister from Spain and also two dogs and a cat. Um Yeah but with this big family there's always something to do in this house um there's always someone to talk to and you're never bored. Yeah there are a lot of activities going on and yeah it's just really nice to have all those people around and yeah with my spanish host sister I not only learned from the Canadian culture and language but I also learned a little bit of the spanish culture and language and yeah that's just really cool because I really like to learn new things and yeah.
What has been the best part of your experience with Rocky Mountain International Student Program?
Ruth from Germany: um the best part of my experience with the Rocky Mountain International Student program, it's probably all the trips that I did with the international students because it's just really nice to meet all those different people from the different countries. For example the Netherlands France, Spain, Mexico, Germany and yeah it was just really cool to exchange um all the experience we already made during our exchange year here and yeah it was just really nice to meet all of the new people and make new friends.
