Why did you choose Rocky Mountain International Student Program for your study abroad experience?

Lilly from Germany: I wanted to study with the Rocky Mountain International Student program in Canada because I wanted to be in a small community, which was really important for me. And also because the program offers one activity a month, which makes, which gives me even better and more Canadian experience. So sometimes we go skating or skiing and one time we went dog sledding.

What do you like best about the community you live in?

Lilly from Germany: About Vanderhoof, I like the best, the people that are really friendly and also the wildlife. There is at least once a week. I see wildlife yesterday I saw a bunch of deer and herd of elk and I also saw coyotes and fox before and I'm still waiting to see a bear. But yeah, I really enjoyed wildlife here.

What do you like best about your school?

Lilly from Germany: What I like best about my high school here is the different classes. I have had classes like photography or drama and I didn't have classes like that in Europe, but I really enjoy it. And I also enjoyed high school sports. We're doing lots of trips and have lots of practice and it's really much fun and there you can really feel that high school spirit, like they tell you in the movies and I really enjoyed that.

What do you like best about your homestay?

Lilly from Germany: My host family did a huge trip with us through Canada during spring break, where we could see three different provinces. And that was an amazing experience. But then there's also those little moments where we are baking together and that's really nice.

What has been the best part of your experience with Rocky Mountain International Student Program?

Lilly from Germany: My favorite part with the program so far was a trip to Echo Lake, where we stayed overnight and we did activities like snowshoeing skating or ice fishing. And it was really nice to have to spend that time with all the international students.
