What do you like best about attending high school in Canada with Rocky Mountain International Student Program?

Bente from Germany: First of all are the fun subjects, I have textiles and music, guitar lessons. And I'm from Germany and usually I have up to 16 subjects and now I have four. It's a kind of focusing and what I learned is just you learn a lot when you have every day just those four subjects. But I don't know I think that's the best part about school because it's really fun.

Sofía from Mexico: One of the things I enjoy the most about the school in Cranbrook, Mount Baker Secondary School, is that we have a lot of classes that I wouldn't take in Mexico. Like outdoor education and woodwork and metal work and art.

Lilly from Germany: here is the different classes. I have had classes like photography or drama and I didn't have classes like that in Europe, but I really enjoy it. And I also enjoyed high school sports. We're doing lots of trips and have lots of practice and it's really much fun and there you can really feel that high school spirit, like they tell you in the movies and I really enjoyed that.

Tobias from Germany: We have a lot of school teams so you can join a lot of different um uh sport activities.

Jette from Germany: everyone is like gathered even. So participating is everything you don't have to win or you don't have to be the best even so like in PE everyone's like good job even if you don't make it. So when you missed the goal or anything like that everyone's like try again. This is what I kinda like the school spirit

Jean from France: What I like is that the vibe of the class is completely different. Here, you can stand up, talk, even do anything you want, as long as you listen to the teacher and don't disturb the class, whereas in France, we just sat in the chair and the only way we can speak is by raising our hands. So it's completely different.

Krit from Thailand: What I like about my school is I don't have to wear a uniform because in Thailand I must wear a student uniform.

David from Germany and Javier from Spain: Uh this school was something new because in Spain each student while the students have class a class and the teachers come to their class. But here, if you have science, you have to go to a science class. If you have math, you have to go to the math class. So for me was something new. I also really like every activity you

Karolin and Julius from Germany: Okay. I really like the teachers. They're really nice and kind. And I also like the subjects like Outdoor Education and foods. Also, what I really like is the lunch break because in Germany we have no lunch break and it's a nice experience. I really like the teachers and also because they're really helpful, like if you have trouble with the subjects, you can just like redo your test or like they're really nice to the internationals.

Amelie from Germany: The best thing about the school here are definitely the subjects because there are fewer of them and the lessons are more interesting and you learn more.

Kristel from the Netherlands : So the thing I like the most about my school is that we have only four blocks a day. That's because then you really have time to learn something.

Pablo from Spain: My school does generally very fun things for try to an international student feels like it's his, it's his school and feels like he's more integrated to it

David from Germany and Javier from Spain: I was in the computer class last semester and I have to say the equipment that you're using here is really good. The programs are awesome. I don't know if you know the adobe programs, they're for example, using those and yeah, it's just great to work with good technique stuff

Mariam from Italy: I think that the thing I like the most about my school here, Mount Baker in Cranbrook is that the teachers and the professors care a lot about you and they are always trying to help you. And I also love that the school offers you many subjects you can choose and so you have the possibility to follow your passions, choosing the classes that you like the most.

Elisa from Austria: What I like best about my school here is that every teacher is so helpful and always offers help. In addition, I was able to find some new interests because of new classes that I don't have at home. I don't have foods, but because I attend a food class here, I discovered the love for cooking and baking.

Ida from Germany: So in school I definitely enjoy the subjects the most. Um I really like having subjects like foods or wood work, metal work outdoor education. Its subjects I've never heard about in Germany and it's just great like during your long school day having those non academic subjects and yeah, I really enjoy that.

Ruth from Germany: I really like it that the schools here in Canada have a lot of non academic subjects, so they have classes like woodwork, metal work, foods and yeah, photography and they're just like a lot of different things you can try out and yeah, it's really, really cool because I can't do that in Germany. So yeah, it's a nice little break between the academic classes and yeah, it's just really fun.

David from Germany and Javier from Spain: I also really like every activity you can do in this school, for example, both of us, we did volleyball teams here are super nice. Uh they are so competitive and yeah, you can meet a lot of people. Really nice coaches. It's really nice and amazing opportunity to live. Yeah.

Nina from Germany: I'm going to a small school so everyone knows each other. The teacher has been great and helpful so far and yeah, I got along with them pretty well and they make my time easier here. Also, we have some great school teams at my school, like the ski and snowboard team.

Bente from Germany: yeah, most teachers are really relaxed and nice and help you and yeah, try to figure out when you don't know how to explain things. They're really nice. Yeah.
