Speaker: Dr. Keisha Siriboe
Why are you a Reproductive Justice Voter?
Dr. Keisha Siriboe: I am a reproductive justice voter because I have come to value the importance of social justice at a grassroots level. I work in this field globally in the area of mental health. And I've come to understand that you cannot effectively move any issue forward until you have a core understanding of your human rights and start to repair all the damage that has to be done in the field of my research, which is mental health, the academic field. So reproductive justice to me is first repairing and rupturing the disregard for human rights in general and all the research and all the millions and all the billions and all the harmful frameworks we built around them. And so what I do with my power and my positioning, I sit on boards and I say the hard things for the voiceless under this movement
