Christian Bevan: Hi, my name is Christian I graduated Paly as a part of the class of 2022, and I currently attend Southern Methodist University, where I'm studying Business Management.

Christian Bevan: One of the best things about college is all the newfound freedom that you're allowed. You can go out, meet new people and you really control your life a lot more than you could in high school.

Christian Bevan: One of the most important things I learned that Paly is how important it is to focus on yourself and your own academic success instead of others. Because I know Paly is a very competitive school and it's really hard when you're not always going to be the best. And it seems like there's always people who no matter how hard you work, they seem smarter than you, but it's really important to just focus on yourself and do what's best for you.

Christian Bevan: One of the most challenging aspects about college for me has been time management. You know, in college you have so much freedom and with that comes a lot of responsibility. You have to get all of your work done, you have to get up and go to class every day and that's really all on you. You don't have your parents, they aren't checking on you as much and like making sure you get everything done, there's so many distractions, so it can be really hard, and even for me, it's still something I'm trying to improve upon.

Christian Bevan: Rise Together Education has been very helpful to me and my family in a lot of ways. You know, first of all with the scholarship money, which in and of itself has been very, very helpful, but also with all the resources they offer. You know, college is something that's very new and you don't always know what's going on. And having an organization out there that's willing to help and answer all your questions is something that is very nice. And additionally, I'd like to thank Laura (RTE Mentor), she was someone I got to talk to this year before I actually left for college. You know, she really helped make a personalized connection between me and Rise Together. You know, I always knew I could reach out to her with any questions and she would always be able to help. So that was something that was really nice and something that I'm very grateful for.

Thank you for supporting Rise Together Education!
