Speaker: Zoe Stoller
Tell us about yourself! What is your name & where are you from? What organization are you connected with/what do you do?
Zoe Stoller: Hi, my name is Zoe Stoller, my pronouns are she/they, and I am so excited to be joining Riley's Way in the Youth Leadership Retreat this year! I'll be participating on a panel discussion and also leading a workshop about how to build community through social media, and I, myself, am a social media content creator. I love to spread LGBTQ+ education and mental health visibility through the power of social media, and I'm also currently getting my Master's in social work to work with the LGBTQ+ community in an official way like that. So I'm very, very excited to meet you all and to learn more about you and also share more about my journey. Thanks so much and I'll see you there.
Why are you excited for the Riley's Way Youth Leadership Retreat?
Zoe Stoller: I am so excited to be part of the Riley's Way Youth Leadership Retreat because I know that this is something that I could have benefited so, so much from when I was younger, just having a space to find a sense of community and discover my inner leader. So I'm really excited to be able to now be part of this as an adult and you know, be the kind of person that I could have used when I was younger for all of the youth who are attending the Leadership Retreat this year.
What is your workshop about? Why should people attend?
Zoe Stoller: My workshop is all about how to use the power of social media to make connections and community and to show up in a real and authentic and safe way. I myself have found so much of my community thanks to the power of social media. And, also, I've realized so much about my own identity and what it means to show up as my truest, most authentic self. So, I'm going to share all the tips and tricks that I have learned in my own journey with you all, so you can become empowered to utilize social media for good and to find like-minded people in the world who you might not have met otherwise.
