How did you find your way to your current role at RigServ?

Damith Sampath: Around 1.5 years ago, RIGSERV approached me directly regarding the intention to start a project management office. And with my extensive experience in project management and designing and setting up project management offices, they wanted to know whether I was interested in this opportunity. And considering the prospects at RIGSERV as a growing company, I thought it would be an interesting role to take up. And that's where my role as the head of project management office started at RIGSERV.

Could you share a few details about the favorite part of your role and the team at RigServ?

Damith Sampath: My favorite part at RIGSERV would be the chance of really stepping into different areas, maybe project management, establishing policies and procedures or improving processes. So there's a lot of scope to step into different areas and improve those areas so that freedom has been given by the management to me. And I think that is what I cherish the most within my current role. And as far as the team goes, it's a versatile team with members from all over the world. And that gives a good opportunity to interact with different people, different cultures and understand their way of thinking. So that's another interesting aspect with regards to the team.

What stands out to you about the culture at RigServ?

Damith Sampath: RIGSERV follows an adhocracy culture which means the employees are allowed to come up with new ideas, new ways of thinking, which in turn results in innovative products that the company come up with. And this is also a very great, good learning opportunity for the employees since we are allowed to think out of the box. And I think that's what stands out in our culture the most.
