Speaker: David Stackhouse
Tell us about you.
David Stackhouse: Hi, everyone. It's uh David Stackhouse. I'm the senior director of PB M Clinical Strategy. I'm located in Pittsburgh and I have been with right way for three years. Uh I lead the team that has all clinical responsibility for our PB M offering, which includes how do we manage the drug via our formularies and utilization management program, but also how we manage the people via our navigation team. But we also have our specialty team, which is a mix of those two. They're responsible for lowering the cost of specialty drugs for members and our clients, but also working with members to achieve their desired clinical outcomes. So why? Right way, I've been in health care for over 20 years now and I've seen firsthand uh how, how the PB M industry has rightfully so gotten a bad name. And I wanted to be part of a company that attacked those um poor business practices of the big three and slowly chips away at their business.
Have there been any key learnings or valuable insights from the ongoing implementation season thus far?
David Stackhouse: Implementation season, it's never easy. There's always, uh you know, kind of a varying way that uh clients will approach and, and, and expect uh to go through a transition such as this. And, you know, I think one of the things that we've learned over the years is that we've got to, you kind of start by listening to the clients figure out what is important to them, understand, um you know, where they're coming from with their drug benefit. And, you know, with that, we've, we've been able to begin to tailor um how we communicate transition plans and how we're going to communicate to their members and, and that's been really critical for us and um setting clear expectations for, for the clients and um kind of letting them know what, what can, what to expect come 11 and beyond and um you know, kind of help manage that uh initial noise that may be there, but also um prevent a lot of that noise from happening.
Do you have any asks for the broader org?
David Stackhouse: It's been said that, you know, 11 for the PB M industry is like the Super Bowl. And as you all can respect uh preparing for an event, such as the Super Bowl takes a lot of time energy and, and dedication. So, you know, our team right now is very focused on, you know, digging through data tables, developing letters that go out to members, calling members to inform them of a transition, calling their physicians to get new prescriptions, whatever we can do to help, um you know, have a successful Super Bowl. So, you know, that's, that's our focus right now is that we're very heads down and we'll continue to be um through essentially the first quarter. So there's a lot going on. Um But, you know, our, our team is, is well prepared for this. We've, we've hired some great individuals that are really good at um all these things that we do. And, you know, I have the utmost respect and trust that we'll be able to pull this off.
