What were you struggling with before you found the course?

Linda Materna: Hello. It's a great pleasure to review Doctor Sally Riggs's poly vagal strategies for long COVID recovery course. Um Before I started the course and in my long COVID journey, I've been struggling with a number of issues uh principle among them, how to calm my nervous system, how to even know what part of my autonomic nervous system I'm in at a certain time. Be it parasympathetic or sympathetic or dorsal? In fact, she created in me an awareness of these three systems and the role of the vagus nerve being central to my healing. I'm particularly grateful for her talking about all the grief that one has to process in this journey. And her focus always on the positive and how to refine purpose and to realize that the transformation we're going through is worth it that this journey is taking us to a better place.

How did this course help? Be specific, give examples or stories.

Linda Materna: Knowledge is power. And Doctor Riggs emphasizes that long COVID is a nervous system problem. Calm your nervous system, you'll calm your immune system and you'll get better. And what great power is that? So how is the course most useful to me? Well, first of all, the explanation that Doctor Riggs gives of the role of the vagus nerve in the autonomic nervous system in re-establish health and healing. That meant to me that I using the strategies that Doctor Riggs provides in her course for listening, safety and support that I gain power, a capacity and invitation to take charge of my own healing. And how empowering is that also useful are Doctor Riggs's outlining of obstacles to healing such as self criticism for which she provides an antidote judgment? Again, another problem that we all face and then so much else to point out her lesson on grief, on purpose on gratitude and what acceptance really need. Um The safe and sound protocol which I've successfully used. And I highly recommend to all of you to investigate her strategies again, for support and safety and her wonderful tips on ways to stay safe in the world from getting COVID again and what to do. Of course, should you get it again? The use of journaling, observing and describing without judgment, talking about the gut and the microbiome and then practical issues about what to do about friends and family and people that don't understand, dealing with overwhelm finding people who understand you and letting go of those who don't a truly marvelous comprehensive course.

Linda Materna: Dr Riggs's course on Polly Bagel strategies for recovery from Long COVID stands out for me in its provision of the tools to forge my own recovery in physical, emotional, mental and spiritual dimensions. It brings together information strategies, resources, all of them in a well organized program of self paced learning provided by someone, the wonderful doctor Riggs whom I can trust because of her deep knowledge of this field and because she herself has taken this difficult journey and achieved wellness and healing.
