What challenge did you have before working with Pete & Emily?
Dita Aisyah: I worked with Pete throughout last year in 2022 and some of the problems that we hoped to solve by working with Pete was, one - we wanted to improve our fundraising pitch. We believed that we had a good business, but for some reason, our fundraising round wasn't closing. So it came down to building an interesting narrative for our business. The second thing was about managing my sales team better, of course, with fundraising coming in. we have growth targets, more aggressive growth targets that we want to tackle and that means scaling our sales team and making the foundation really, really strong. So, I also worked with Pete about how to build the right team. What's the right metrics? What's the right compensation benefits and all that. I personally didn't have any sales background whatsoever. I never worked in a sales organization before. I'd never seen, I mean, worked directly with a sales leader. And yeah, I think the coaching sessions with Pete was really, really helpful, especially the fact that we are based in Indonesia where the tech sector is very nascent and I think working with Pete opened up a lot of insights into what's the best practice in the tech B2B market that is more established in the US and take some of those best practices to our local market here in Indonesia.
What did you like about them and how they worked with you?
Dita Aisyah: What I love the most about working with Pete is the fact that he's very, very experienced. So whatever problem that I throw at him, it always seems like he's ever done it before. And it gives me a lot of comfort, especially for me, who never had sales experience before and first time sales leader, you know, giving me a comfort that the things that I go through is very, very common. The second thing that I love about working with Pete is that he never gives you a straight answer. This is what you have to do. This is you know, the solution to your problem. But his approach is always like, let's think through the problem together and these are all the options that you can do to solve your problems. And what do we think is the best one here considering factor A,B,C. So I think it really puts me in the right you know, thinking process that, you know, the next time I face similar problems, I don't have to run for someone else to tell me the solution because I know like the thinking process on how to solve that problem. And lastly, I love how Pete is very open to connecting his network to me. When I face certain problems, then he knows someone else that would be best to address that problem. He never shys away from making that connection.
What results did you get with Pete & Emily?
Dita Aisyah: The impact of our consultation was massive. Our revenue tripled from 2021 to 2022. And I also feel like personally, I became a better, more likeable and more trustable storyteller and that helped me to become more convincing and close more deals. And that was a skill that I was also able to kind of pass down to my team. And hopefully with that, they would see a lot more success as well.
