Speaker: Dalia Nightingale, Chief Revenue Officer, Vixio
What challenge did you have before working with Pete & Emily?
Dalia Nightingale: What challenge did I have before meeting Pete? I was working in a private equity backed business. We had very ambitious growth targets like many organizations and I wanted to ensure that I was going to build a really strong high performing team with the right practices, sales practices in place to accelerate our growth and build a business which was predictable and scalable to ensure that we could deliver on a successful exit. in due course, to new private equity investors.
What did you like about them and how they worked with you?
Dalia Nightingale: What do I like about working with Pete? Three main things. He is brilliant at synthesizing and simplifying very complex and messy situations and challenges. And that really help with sort of clarity of thinking or reframing a situation or working with you to kind of help articulate a message with impact to the relevant stakeholders. I think second is because he comes with a vast amount of go to market strategic leadership experience across varying businesses and sizes. I think there hasn't been one single situation that I presented to him where he hasn't been able to provide really valuable insight or provide a framework for me to kind of build on and develop with very tangible positive outputs at the end of it. And in my experience, that's very rare, I think thirdly, he is a master at challenging me at the most poignant points and times and he does it with great focus and great kindness and it's something that I hugely hugely value. It enables me to rethink differently, and lead my business and function to the best of my ability.
What results did you get with Pete & Emily?
Dalia Nightingale: What results did I get from working with Pete? Two main areas here. One is that we navigated through a lot of team changes and challenges to create a high performing commercial function which delivered the growth expectations two consecutive years running and which contributed to the exit of the business to new private equity owners at the end of 2022 and a higher than expected multiple. I like to think that I have a very engaged and empowered team which led us to that. And secondly, because he gives me space and counsel to explore my own leadership fully, I believe I continue to be of great service and value to my team and my peers and my board and something which I get great joy from.
