Speaker: Carly Fordham, Carly Fordham Consulting

What challenge did you have before working with Pete & Emily?

Carly Fordham: I started working with Pete when I got my CRO role, my first one actually in a VC backed company, encouraged by my boss, the CEO to get some coaching and support and really help prepare me for the role. I also then worked with Emily, as we built out the team and we were thinking through what we needed in the partnerships leader and manager, and she helped to build that profile and through the recruiting process as well as, you know, what the plan should look like, what good looks like for partnerships.

What did you like about them and how they worked with you?

Carly Fordham: What I really liked about working with Pete is, well, clearly he's got loads of experience, but he doesn't use that to impose on you what you should do, but more extract out of you where you're at and provide you a structured framework to move forward and then offering experience as you go, little nuggets of what's worked or what hasn't worked in the past. And so that really helps you to come to your own conclusion and make your own next step. And I've really appreciated that and working with him.

What results did you get with Pete & Emily?

Carly Fordham: In working with Pete, I can think of two outcomes, one personal in building my confidence in, you know, how I was, you know, operating and in my decision making. So it was really helpful to have someone as a sounding board, whether it's around, you know, particular commercial strategy or around people development or people movement. So that's a personal thing and then for the business to help me think through and prepare for our funding round. So that was really valuable to talk someone who'd been through that and could give me advice on how to present my plan. You know, think through any questions that might come my way. And so again, increase my confidence, but also as a positive outcome for the company as well.
