Randall Henderson: Hey, what's up guys? Just a little psychological side note today. I'm gonna share something called the Einstelung effect, and that's what our mind does to try to shortcut problems by always reverting back to what we've seen work in the past. So what Sir Francis Bacon said is that the human understanding, when once it has formed an opinion, will draw all other details to try to support that opinion and not be wrong. So what it. Mean for a business is that just because you've solved something one way in the past doesn't mean that that is the way it should always be solved, and we all fall into this pattern. For example, in a property management company, I've seen the solution is often, oh well, let me just hire someone. Let me throw some more personal personnel at that problem, and it will fix it and solve it. And in fact, oftentimes that problem needs to be looked at through fresh eyes and with a fresh mind, what we call the beginner's mind and zen. Which allows you to kind of look at the problem differently and evaluate whether or not that is a personnel issue or maybe it's a process issue or maybe it's just a customer issue, but you have to always look at those problems with fresh eyes. Don't fall into that Einstelung effect of thinking there's only one way to solve this.
