Especially for the young ones, it's so important to meet colleagues to meet peers to meet also potential future mentors. And I always said: for me the pandemic was not that difficult, because I had my friends, I had my colleagues already before the pandemic. So I just could easily liaise with them and chat with them and email with them. But for the juniors who do not have the network the possibility to interact with other people, such a conference is exactly what is needed. So they have to come to a conference in order to connect with other colleagues with other friends with peers and to establish their own network that is key for the future for their careers.
I think one of the most important things is for juniors, they have to learn how to present an abstract presentation and that's something which nobody knows from the very beginning. This is simply practice. And if you don't go to the conferences, if you do not perform, if you do not fail, you will never learn. And we all had our lectures where, to be honest, we were not satisfied at the end. But slightly you're going to improve over the years. And I think that is one of the probably most important things you can learn as a junior here at these conferences.
