Speaker: Victoria Short
Victoria Short: Hi, I'm Vicky Short. I'm the CEO for Randstad in the UK and Ireland, part of the world's largest talent services company. And I'm delighted to be a guest speaker at RECLive24 on June 25th.
What will you be speaking about at your panel?
"Unlocking potential in recruitment leadership"
Victoria Short: I'll be discussing whether our industry, which doesn't struggle with gender diversity at an entry level, is doing enough to smash the glass ceiling in leadership positions. At Randstad. It is our ambition to be the world's most equitable talent organization and we take uh driving equitable opportunities for people of all genders really seriously. And it's something I'm really passionate about personally. Women, for example, continue to face discrimination, bias and systemic barriers in the workplace and the higher they go in their profession, the harder those barriers can often be to overcome and it's increasingly more difficult for them to secure a seat at the board table. We've done some recent research and it shows across all sectors that women in the UK are less likely to be given a pay rise or a bonus in the last six months. Compared to their male colleagues. Only 43% of women have actually received a pay rise compared to 50% of men. And as a female CEO and having worked in the recruitment and HR services sector for more than 25 years now, I feel that responsibility falls on us to inspire inclusion, provide equitable opportunities for all including at the top of our sector. So I'm really looking forward to talking to our industry peers about what more we can do to make our our sector truly equitable, get more balanced representation across all genders and seated, not just at the board table but at the head of the table.
What are you most looking forward to at the event?
Victoria Short: I'm very much looking forward to talking to our industry peers at RECLive24 about what we can do more of and what we can all be doing to make our sector truly equitable. And ensure we've got a more balanced representation across all genders. Seated not just at the board table but at the head of the table.
