Speaker: Robert Morris, Advanced Training and Seminars • Murfreesboro, TN
How many years have you been an ABR® designee, and what inspired you to earn the designation?
Robert Morris: I have enjoyed having my ABR® designation for the past 23 years, and it's been a great time to be sure. I was inspired to earn my designation because of my commitment to my craft. And I wanted to gain knowledge and expertise. And I also wanted to maintain my efficiency as I learned more and more about servicing buyer-clients.
How do you actively promote buyer representation?
Robert Morris: I make a concerted effort to actively promote the buyer representation agreement at every opportunity that I get. I think it's important that buyers understand the importance of working with professionals who had specialized training and working out negotiations for them, by our advocacy, representing their best interest in the transaction, and to bring that process to a smooth and successful end. I just think it's critical, that they know when they are making the most important decision of their lives, that they use a professional who specializes in working for them.
What is your favorite aspect of working with buyers?
Robert Morris: My favorite aspect of working with buyers is actually watching their facial expressions, the emotions of joy that they experience when they finally hear that were closed on the transaction, only their own home for the very first time, some of them not even knowing that they could actually obtain that goal. I think it's very rewarding to see their dreams come to fruition.
