What’s your favorite part about Pursue Cyber?

Matt Totherow: Hi. Uh, I would encourage anybody wanting to look into a career in cybersecurity to look into to pursue cyber. I mean, you can learn plenty in school and stuff in tech, whether that's a hardware, networking, coding, but a lot of that isn't really gonna cover the real ins and outs of what the field really is. I think the small class sizes and groups are what really helps most of all. It's not like a university setting with a bunch of huge classes where you're not really where you're just gonna be one of a crowd. It's just smaller and you're gonna be able to ask a lot of questions and get a lot of time really talking to seasoned vets. Uh, most of all, whether you decide to go into something like cybersecurity or even something related to it, like sales, it helps give you a feel on what you want to do in the industry and with your career as a whole.

What would you tell other students considering Pursue Cyber?

Matt Totherow: I would tell anybody looking in to pursue cyber, if you think you're unqualified, don't be afraid of that. You don't have to be a master's level computer science major. You don't have to have so many years in the industry to really look into this. It's really great for anybody who Has really a lick of a cybersecurity knowledge or even nothing at all and thinks it just might be something they're interested in. It'll really teach you the ins and outs, and it'll give you a feel for if this is really something you wanna do in life.

What makes Pursue Cyber unique?

Matt Totherow: I think this course has really benefited me as a whole because I came in from a purely hardware background. I just knew how to fix computers. But now I know if I'm really gonna enter this field, then I know what I need to do and I know what I more want to do when I actually get that experience, so that I'm not just going to be a repair man forever.

Matt Totherow: The atmosphere is what really makes uh the whole thing unique. I mean, it's not a giant class, it's not some place where you're gonna be lost in the crowd, and it's not like an actual job where you're gonna be like under pressure constantly to perform. It's just a small experience. With, like I said, a really a seasoned veteran, and you're gonna learn a lot in the field in a very in actually a pretty short amount of time.
