Speaker: Kara Brown, Superintendent, Hardin Co Board of DD
What were some of your biggest challenges before implementing PublicSchoolWORKS?
Kara Brown: Before we started using PublicSchoolWORKS We had a hard time keeping track of who had done training, who hadn't done training. We also really struggled with who to bring in to do the different kinds of trainings we needed. It was a long boring day for our staff and they really didn't like it now, they can do it at their own pace and take the test as many times as they need to. So we can be sure they're really learning the information.
What is the biggest change or improvement you've seen since implementing PublicSchoolWORKS?
Kara Brown: Many of the trainings are annual trainings. And so our staff know them pretty well. They've done them enough that it, it's really become second nature to them. But one of the biggest improvements we've seen is really in the administrative side of tracking, being able to show that somebody has done the training and then with the tests and quizzes that follow many of the modules, we can also show that they passed with some proficiency. So that has allowed us to, to be sure that they're learning information and gives us a way to defend their knowledge if something were to go wrong.
What is your favorite feature of PublicSchoolWORKS' offerings?
Kara Brown: My favorite feature of PublicSchoolWORKS is the ability to do the training on my own time when I have a minute and I can do one or I can do three. It's very flexible and it allows me to fit it into my schedule.
How is PublicSchoolWORKS different from other similar products or services?
Kara Brown: Sorry, I'm not very helpful on this one. I've never used another product and I love PublicSchoolWORKS. So I don't think I'll be going to another one.
