Speaker: Victoria Bringa, Mendoza, Argentina
How (and why) are you taking action on climate change solutions in, for, and with your community?
Victoria Bringa: Hi, everyone. My name is Victoria Ringa. I'm from Mendoza, Argentina. And I take actions on climate change solutions because I just love life. I love the world and I want to protect it a few years ago, I had to escape my home um in the middle of the night because a wildfire had gotten out of control. There have been many wildfires here and they've all been started by people. So I realized the importance of education. Now I am part of a local organization and we educate young students and teach them about climate change, how it affects them. And more importantly their power to change the world and to fight for what they believe in. And we do that by helping them come up with a project that they can do by themselves to help their communities. And that way we want to inspire them and let them know that you can change the world no matter your age and you don't have to become a doctor or an engineer to do that.
Who or what inspires/inspired you to care about climate change and climate solutions?
Victoria Bringa: I feel inspired by nature every day when I wake up and hear and hear the birds sing when I see the beautiful gray foxes that live here. I know inside my heart that I want to create a world where we can all coexist and the way to do that is to take action against climate change. I also want to thank all the wonderful climate advocates all over the world. Uh You inspired me to also take action and you let me know my power because I felt helpless for so long. Um And I know that many people still do. So I guess I want to tell you in case you didn't know it, that you also have power. So yeah, go out in the world and change it. Bye.
