How (and why) are you taking action on climate change solutions in, for, and with your community?
Muhammad Shakeel khan: Hi, this is Mohammed Shakil Khan from Pakistan, currently a student at university and climate activist. I want to share my story. My story is about the Himalayas, which is one of the world's highest mountain range. And in the previous year, I was in the Himalayas for my research bure work in deer. I saw me of the glaciers due to it due to climate change. And after that melting of the glaciers so much high impact blood came in the country. So what is the solution for this climate change? I think some of the solution for this climate change is afforestation, renewable energy, electric vehicles and stop deforestation. And much more impactful is reduce carbon dioxide emissions from the industries, from the vehicles, from the any type of any type of other places which emit such type of gasses, chlorofluorocarbon and carbon dioxide methane, such type of gasses which badly affect the environment and distract the whole climate of the world. So we need a complete effort to control this climate change for the near future. And in the last, I want to say once a for that, the best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. And the second best time is now so protect our earth because earth is our home and stop deforestation, do deforestation because this is much more, much more important in the current time. Who or what inspires/inspired you to care about climate change and climate solutions?
Muhammad Shakeel khan: So the second question answer is uh when I was in the Himalayas. So I saw that we do not do work for this climate change. So I think the next generation will face high difficulties. So this glacier melting is such an inspiration for me. And this is a motivation that I want to work for climate change and protect the next generation from such bad devastating impacts of this current climate change. Thank you.
