How (and why) are you taking action on climate change solutions in, for, and with your community?

Mike Siegler: Hi, my name is Mike Siegler. I'm a landscaper from Santa Cruz, California. I've been filling propane cylinders for many years. I had a, a side business, Mike's Mongolian barbecue and I noticed that so much vapor was going out into the air after these cylinders were being filled. So I came up with an idea of taking that vapor and plumbing it into another recovery cylinder that recovery cylinder becomes pressurized by the vapor going into it. Then it's used to fill subsequent empty tanks that come in for the next fill. Thus, recycling the vapor that was prior, uh, being thrown out into the atmosphere. This invention is extremely helpful for air quality and pollution control. The problem is that the propane industry won't move forward with anything unless there's some type of mandate. Um CO2 is going down to the atmosphere and much is being done about this propane vapor is four times stronger than CO2. So this invention could save millions of gallons of propane going out into the atmosphere. Much like gasoline vapor recovery has with gasoline vapor going out into the atmosphere. Thank you.
