Speaker: Emmanuel Omondi, Nairobi, Kenya

How (and why) are you taking action on climate change solutions in, for, and with your community?

Emmanuel Omondi: Hello there. My name is Emmanuel Lunde. I'm in Nairobi Kenya. I'm an entrepreneur, a climate advocate and a solution seeker growing up surrounded by the betaking beauty of nature. I developed a deeper connection to the environment from an early age. Uh But as I witnessed the alarming changes taking place in our climate, in our climate, from, you know, rising temperature to more extreme weather events, anywhere couldn't stand idle by then. That is why I decided to dedicate my life to contributing to climate solutions. I'm not a scientist or a policy maker, but rather I consider myself as a, as a catalyst for change in my own community. For me, climate, for me, climate solution isn't just about mitigating the, you know, impact of climate change. You know, it's about preserving the world we love for future generation. It's about fostering the sense of collective, you know, collective responsibilities and inspiring others to join in the fight against climate change. So here I am Emmanuel Omondi, a climate advocate on a mission to create a more sustainable and re and re resilient future for all. And I invite you all to join me in the I invite you all to join me on this journey towards a greener and healthier planet for generations to come. Come on guys, let's all protect our, our world. Bye bye.

Who or what inspires/inspired you to care about climate change and climate solutions?

Emmanuel Omondi: Well, I'd say my parents played a very significant role in shaping my environmental consciousness. They instilled in, they instilled in me from a young age values of conservation, sustainability and respect for the earth, whether it was planting trees on our backyard, pak at home or participating in our community cleanup efforts. They showed me through their actions, the importance of taking care of our planet. And also, as I grew older, I became more increasingly aware of the urgency of climate change, you know, change uh through social media, uh through education, through scientific reports and learning about the devastating impacts of global warming on ecosystem, wildlife and vulnerable communities around the world. For these are some of the things that fueled my, my, my action. Yeah, you know, to, to step up and be, be, be, you know, be, be, be the leader so so that I can lead in climate action activities so that I can inspire others. Also to join me on this journey since it's not an easy journey and you can't do it alone. That's why you need people to come along. We need to partner with people. NGO S just to come with the government to come up and, you know, solve some of these climatic solutions. Yeah.
