Abhishek Ratna: Hi, I'm Abhishek Ratna and I'm excited to see you at the upcoming Developer Marketing Summit. I lead GTM, product marketing and growth marketing strategies for Google's open source AI and Ml technologies, most notably TensorFlow.
What will you be discussing at the upcoming Developer Marketing Summit?
Abhishek Ratna: My talk is titled "Scale to Succeed: Running Platform Marketing Programs at Enterprise Scale". I'm very excited to be co-hosting this talk with a good friend of mine, Karan Nigam, who is Senior Director of Product Marketing at Palo Alto Networks. Karan and I interface with Microsoft, and over the course of our careers we both managed developer and platform marketing programs at the likes of Microsoft, Databricks, portions of that at Facebook, Google, and Palo Alto Networks, and we'd like to share some of our learnings that help you be a more successful platform and ecosystem marketer.
What nugget of wisdom are you hoping to leave attendees with after your talk?
Abhishek Ratna: At the end of this talk, my sincere hope would be that you walk away with a clearer understanding of platform and ecosystem marketing, a better understanding of your developer audiences, and more importantly, an understanding of how to engage effectively with your more technical stakeholders in driving successful programs. We would also hope that you walk away with inspiration from the lessons that we've learned and I'm very excited to share that with you. And finally, we will give you our role models and influencers in the space, and hopefully that will allow you to further your education and growth.
Why do you think it is important to shine the light on developer marketing?
Abhishek Ratna: It's a vital skill for a marketer to understand how to speak with this very technical audience and how to build this community of developers as that community is what will decide the fate and the success of your technology product.
Which other sessions are you looking forward to watching at the Developer Marketing Summit?
Abhishek Ratna: The other session that I'm looking forward to is "What Success Looks Like in DevRel & Defining Meaningful Goals". I feel developer relations are probably the most important stakeholder that developers marketers can work with, and I would love to learn best practices and lessons on dealing with that particular stakeholder.
